About Us
Dr. Joseph McDaniel, or “Dr. Mac” has been serving the San Antonio and surrounding areas as an emergency physician for over 20 years. His medical service began with his medical school training at East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine, followed by his internship and residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center through the United States Air Force. Dr. McDaniel served over 22 years and finished his military career as the Chief Medical Officer for the 149th Medical Wing and the CERF-P Disaster Response Team Joint Base San Antonio where he retired in 2021. Additionally, he has practiced privately as an emergency physician in the Baptist Health Care Systems form 2005 till 2018 as an Emergency Medical Director.

Since 2018, Dr. McDaniel transitioned to a rural setting providing top notch emergency care to underserved communities near San Antonio. In addition, Dr. Mac serves as the Medical Director for District 7 Fire and Rescue and is intimately involved in the pre-hospital care of patients in San Antonio and its surrounding communities.

Dr McDaniel’s desire is to bring a more collaborative and personalized approach to patient care. Oasis Oaks Concierge Medicine is the culmination of that idea. His goal is to give his patients a level of care that is unmatched in the traditional practice of medicine.

Do you take insurance?We do not bill or accept insurance. However, it is important that you maintain insurance coverage to cover lab, radiological and medication costs. It is also important to have insurance for any emergent medical needs that may require hospitalization, emergency room or urgent care visits.

What are your memberships?We offer individual as well as family memberships. These can be paid monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Membership starts at $150 per month.

What is my first consultation like at my home?Your first consultation will include a thorough history and physical exam as well as an EKG. You will be instructed on the equipment provided to monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturations and temperature. If appropriate you will also receive a glucose tester to check blood sugar as needed. We will then go over all your medications, your specialist providers and any other important data related to your health care. All information will be entered into a secure electronic medical record. Additionally, you will receive information on personal prevention and wellness plans specifically designed for your needs and goals. Once the initial consultation is completed, any additional labs, radiological studies or specialist consultations will be initiated.
